Teach a Child to Fish Day

Pond Hopper Nation will be at the Earl G. Williams State Park in Oil City, Louisiana from 12 pm - 3 pm teaching the next generation of young fishing anglers how to fish! This is a FREE event, and the first 50 kids who register below will receive a Free Fishing Rod and Reel! Also, at 3 pm any child that would like to participate in the Lady Bass Anglers Association Weigh In will get to walk up on stage with a Lady Bass Angler, hold fish up, take pictures, and afterwards get autograph's.

Directions to Park

If you have registered your child, and have received your RSVP confirmation. Please follow the steps below!

  1. Show up between 12 and 1 pm to Earl G. Williamson park. We will have a sign in table with your child's name on a list.(After 1 pm rod & reels, and goody bags will be given out on a first come first come basis.)
  2. After you have signed in. Your child will receive a free fishing rod & reel, and goody bag.
  3. From 12 pm - 3 pm we will have volunteers to help with any fishing questions, help with tying and baiting hooks, and assist with anyone needing help with caught fish. We will also provide bait for anyone that needs it. (Anyone who fishes that is 16 years of age and over will need a Louisiana Fishing License. Click Here to get your fishing license.
  4. At 3 pm. Any children that are interested in participating in the Lady Bass Anglers weigh in will line up and be paired with a Lady Bass Angler. Children will get to experience what it is like during a professional weigh.
