From the Rail to the River: The Story Behind the Jig

By Douglas Wayne

January 7, 2026

Fishing has been a lifelong passion of mine—it’s something I’ve loved since I was old enough to hold a rod. It has never been just a pastime; for me, fishing is a way of life. While I once dreamed of becoming a professional fisherman, I’ve discovered a different, equally fulfilling way to leave my mark on the water: the art of the hand-tied jig.

The Evolution of a Craft

What began as a simple hobby in 2022 has quickly evolved into a dedicated endeavor. My journey into jig tying started as a personal project, but it soon grew into a small business fueled by craftsmanship and a deep respect for the sport. There is a unique satisfaction in knowing that a lure I created with my own hands is helping fellow anglers find success on the water.

Life in Rural Missouri

When I’m not at the tying bench, my life is full and fast-paced. I serve as a full-time railroad conductor, a role that keeps me moving across the landscape. Above all, I am a proud husband and a father to three amazing kids. My family and I call rural Northwest Missouri home, where we cherish the peaceful, outdoor lifestyle and the community that surrounds us.

My Commitment to You

Every jig I produce is made with meticulous care, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to quality. I understand that your time on the water is valuable, and I strive to provide gear that honors that time.

I truly appreciate your interest and support of my work. I hope my jigs help make your next cast your most memorable one yet.
