The Golden Pond Hopper

Hi, my name is Sevin Golden aka The Golden Pond Hopper, I started fishing when I was in elementary school with a Zebco 202. Most kids had the famous 202 so I felt pretty cool starting out with that rod and reel. Back then, catching a ton of bluegill was a great accomplishment and my rope stringer was usually full. I eventually graduated to a spinning reel once I knew there was more out there. I was given the chance to learn how to use a bait caster, but I was too inpatient to stick with it. My friend at work then taught me how to bass fish with plastic worms and toothpicks. That little trick is what I used pretty much for the next 30 years. About 6 years ago, I finally kicking up my fishing with a bait caster and also got into teaching kids how to fish. This was all due to Albert Talafuse and his organization Pond Hopper Nation. Needless to say, I love fishing! I really try to be out on the water every weekend if possible. I'm really glad I get to share my love for fishing with the next generation of young people and getting them into this awesome sport.
